Story

As some of you already know, I have decided to run the Amsterdam marathon on Sunday 20th October.

I am going to be running the marathon in memory of Eilidh Neave, in order to raise money for Meningitis Now. Eilidh sadly passed away due to meningitis at the age of 8 in July this year. She was the younger daughter of Ann Marie and of Stuart, my brother Duncan's godfather and my father's long term friend from playing hockey together in St Andrews, and Zoë’s younger sister. Through organ donation Eilidh has provided a healthier future for three children.

Meningitis Now is a charity heavily involved in not just supporting those who have, or have had meningitis but also in supporting families that have a family member suffering or having suffered from the infection which targets the brain and spinal cord. Those who survive are at risk of having brain damage, hearing loss or a learning disability.

How donations will help:
Meningitis Now have been exceptionally helpful for many families offering support in differing ways during incredibly tough times. Through donating, the money will be used to fund vital research, provide life-changing support and help Meningitis Now move towards to a future where no one loses their life to meningitis. More information on the services provided can be found here https://www.meningitisnow.org/how-we-help/ways-we-can-help-you/about-our-services/

Thank you to everyone who donates!
