Story

I have set myself the challenge of completing the 2021 London marathon. However this challenge is insignificant when compared to the impact that meningitis has on the lives of thousands of people living in the UK and millions worldwide. Within my personal and professional life I have witnessed at first hand the devastating effects that this infection causes.

Meningitis Now have supported Eilidh's family.   This charity also strives to save lives and prevent disability through improving prevention and rapid diagnosis. An important aspect of their work is to highlight the impact of meningitis and to support those affected by this deadly illness.

These activities require funding, so please donate to Meningitis Now by sponsoring my London 2021 marathon challenge through this website.

Battling through the storms this month. Ran with Caira last week and Dennis this week. Invigorating!

28th December 2019
My training started on 1st December by taking part in a local ‘Marcothon’ challenge. This involved running at least 5km every day in December. No walking. No days off allowed. This has been tough on ‘work days’ when the only opportunity was to run in the dark, and sometimes in rubbish weather. But Eleanor and Nick have joined me when the weather is fair and seeing the generous donations arriving on the website has been a real boost. Thank you!
